New Year in Monte Carlo…

Ain’t no better way to see a New Year in than in Monte Carlo. The land of the rich and famous, the Principality of uber luxury. Unfortunately I’ve spent all my money on sale shopping (I’ll show you what I bought soon), so for me it was just window shopping and getting Mummy G to try everything on.

Here’s some of the, erm, amazing sites I saw whilst in Monaco…

Above: The most amazing Christmas tree display in the main square, opposite the Hotel de Paris
Below: The day before NYE. Blue sky, Xmas and palm trees. Bliss.

The view from our room (excuse the cranes)

 Gloria. Posh Monte Carlo milk
The most INSANE Prada jacket. Mummy G wouldn’t try this on though :(

Above and below: jewelled Prada at its best

Oh-so pretty pink gowns from Valentino. Left: Jessica Alba’s dress

Surely this YSL jacket is a down payment for a house, non?

Celine just gets better and better…

Above: Mummy G tried all these bags!
Below: I tried on the jacket of the shop. LOVE IT!

Chanel-o! Like changing of the Guards!
All the Versace Home one gay could need!

Philipp Plein’s skulls are immense! That chandelier…

New Years day drinks at the Cafe de Paris. If you ever visit Monte Carlo,
you MUST go to the Cafe to just sit and watch the world and it’s rich wife go by!

They love a sausage too! Two of the cutest ever, apart from Dhilly, obvs

Just some of the Xmas decorations around MC. These particular ones are outside Shirley Bassey’s apartment block. Chic, obviously!

Even at the airport there’s things to buy, like this Hermes scarf and ashtray!

Oh, did I tell you that me and the boyf are now ENGAGED??????

Celebrity Big Brother – Julian Clary wears Prada shoes…

OMG, who the hell knew that Mr Julian Clary was a fashionista?? We’re just used to seeing him in some lippy and a bright coloured shirt, making sexual innuendos. Well, nothings changed really, expect that for tonight’s Celebrity Big Brother launch, HE’S WEARING THE PRADA SHOES I DREAM OF!

Look… Julian is wearing THOSE jewel studded, fringed brogues from the spring summer 2012 collection. He teams them with a black and blue polka dot suit that he surely took from his wardrobe when he was playing Leigh Bowery in Boy George’s Taboo back in 2002 (yes, the same show I spoke about last week, the one coming back next month yeh??).

Is Julian a dark fashion horse we should be looking out for?? If he’s got these shoes, maybe he is?

Love him already.

Prada throws up over Katy Perry for Paris Fashoin Week – in an amazing way!

Katy Perry has been a busy woman, hasn’t she? Popping from one fashion show to the next, wondering around Paris dressed up to the nines, and looking amazing at all times… look at her here, at the Miu Miu show, in head-to-toe Prada. She looks INSANE – apart from that VILE blue hair!!!!

We all had a gasp at Prada’s spring summer 2012 50s/Grease inspired collection, with the flame shoes, studded bags and car print/fireball coats and dresses, and Katy took it upon herself to show off the best of the collection whilst sitting FROW at Miuccia Prada’s younger brand, Miu Miu’s autumn winter 2012 show.

This is one of her best looks from fashion week, it’s just that blue hair is ruining it for me, every time! And those roots. Blerghhh.

Katy, love, this is NOT a way to win back Russel or attract another man. You may be feeling blue, but we don’t all need to see it. CHANGE IT PLEASE!

Anna Dello Russo goes gaga for Ferragamo’s houndstooth…

It was Lady Gaga who first took on the head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo houndstooth look when she performed on the View earlier this year (even a houndstooth piano!), and now Anna Dello Russo, editor-at-large of Vogue Japan, dared to don the monochrome amazingness over the weekend at Milan fashion week.

Known, like Gaga, for her outrageous dress, Anna was sure to pull out all the stops over the four fashion weeks, and this dress and clutch combo, from Ferragamo’s autumn winter 2011 sexy secretary catwalk, has a definite thumbs up from me.
She actually didn’t go the whole way like Gaga, and left out the houndstooth shoes (and sunnies, hat etc etc), but nevertheless she looked gorgeous.
I actually spotted ADR out and about at London fashion week last week, in head-to-toe Prada. She does like a head-to-toe look, doesn’t she??

Window shopping in Monte Carlo…

*The Hotel de Paris at night*

I’ve just come back from another lovely few days in Monte Carlo with the Very Mummy G and, as usual, my eyes were popping out my head with all the amazing high end fashion around the little bubble principality. What’s more, they are still completely obsessed with their recent Royal Wedding. Some of the shops have become a bit of a shrine to Prince Albert and his new bride, with framed pictures of them making up part of their window displays. A little odd I thought.

Nevertheless, the window’s were lovely. Here’s a few snapped on the Blackberry… hope you like!

*And a Roberto Cavalli shirt I couldn’t resist… in the sale, of coure!*

For all the Prada lovers, I give you Prada Rodeo Drive…

It’s hard not to notice the Prada store on Rodeo Drive, it’s kind of an institution in itself. I would never normally venture into a Prada shop but, much like the New York store (the one Carrie Bradshaw drags ‘Burger’ to), the LA shop is also museum-like and, may I add, utterly fabulous, so I thought a little visit was in order.
I’m not a huge fan of Prada, it has to be said, but last season’s collection with the monkeys, bananas and tropical references got me all hot under the collar. Oh how I wish I was a woman sometimes!

Anyway, take a look at these pics, and if you’re ever in LA, stop by and peek in. It’s well worth seeing.
