It’s more than monochrome. More than animal print. More than just a coincidence.

Designers have gone nuts for the zebra!

And you know how much I love anything animal related. Animals + fashion is just a no brainer!

In fact, I’ve seen flamingos (yes, I’m still obsessed with them), dogs, cats and giraffes too. But zebras more than any of the others.

Sooo people, remember to buy something, ANYTHING, with zebras on for next season. You’ll be the belle of the ball, the talk of the town, the zebra amongst the pigeons (OK, I made that up!)

Diva Watch: Cher x Gap…

It’s fashion week.

In other news, O.M.G. Cher has only gone and partnered with GAP.

Yep, you heard that right… CHER AND GAP. PARTNERED.

I have to be honest, I’m not entirely sure who Future is, but I love the concept of this. Icon meets idol. ‘Meet me in the Gap’. It kinda says what it does on the tin.

An unexpected partnership, bridging the gap between new meets, erm, older.

It’s funny though, some friends asked me what I thought of this, and when I said I thought it was genius, they responded by saying ‘denim is not very Cher though!’.

It actually really is. Find any of her off duty pics, and you’ll see she’s usually in a pair of bum-sculpting jeans.

Anyway, see some behind the scenes below, and shop the looks here.

Tassels for life…

[DISCLAIMER] I love tassels and fringing just as much as I love flamingoes.

ASOS have made me happy. For what better top to wear for a trip round Buckingham Palace than this one?

It might be labelled as ‘festival’ on the website, but I ain’t trotting off to a boggy marsh anytime soon.

Buckingham Palace IS my festival. You really should go and see the Royal Gifts exhibition, on now, until 1st October.

Get the Tee here, plus more amazing tasseled things!

Halpern: fashion’s newest iconic label

Screen Shot 2017-08-11 at 15.26.32

In my head I’d written this post a long times ago. I even had to search my own blog to be sure I hadn’t.

If anyone happens to stumble over a similar post on my blog about the amazing label, Halpern, do let me know.

Although two blogs still wouldn’t do it justice.

It figures that I would be taken with EVERYTHING Michael Halpern does. He cut his couture teeth working as part of the Atelier Versace team.

And you all know what that means… high fashion, lots of drama, lots of sparkle and lots of mesmerising creations.

Also, for this Autumn Winter 2017 collection, he cites Cher and Bob Mackie (designer, and longtime costumer for the diva) as inspirations.

If you’ve ever played that fantasy game of ‘what type of fashion designer I’d be’, Halpern would win for me.

The perfect fusion of camp/disco/tailoring/’70s/Cher. Sprays of emerald sequins up flared trousers, dramatic sparkly jumpsuits and draped bustier tops.

You can have a butchers at some of the collection over at Matchesfashion.com and Brownsfashion.com right now…

Do you follow a blogger on Instagram? Anyone, doesn’t matter who.

If you do, you’re more than likely to have seen this new collaboration – Clinique and Jonathan Adler

Don’t know who Jonathan Adler is? HOW DARE YOU. He’s only the best homeware designer E.V.E.R.

Think camp colours, art deco designs and amazing quirks. He’s my absolutely favourite. What a FAB collaboration! The only upsetting thing is, nothing for us men! (Unless you wear makeup, which I know some of you do!)

Art deco designs. TICK.

Quirky packaging. TICK.

Amazing amazing. TICK.

By the way, my fabulous friend, Labels For Lunch, took these pics. She is the QUEEN at flat lays. How gorgeous are they?

The lipstick packaging is my favourite. Those bullets of loveliness, with the iconic Jonathan Adler ‘Globo’ coloured dome on the end.

See more from the home Globo collection below.

So anyway, the Clinique range comes equipped with everything you need to look fabulous: colour kit, lipstick, makeup brushes, eye shadows and even a Sonic cleansing brush.

If you’re not familiar with Jonathan Adler’s homeware stuff, click here to see his site. And see my top picks below. It really is all amazing! And special mention to those art deco towels, perrrrfect for a beach holiday!

This Real Housewife is the new face of Beauty Blender!

In a world of celebrity and brand collaborations, it’s hard to weed out the really good ones and those that are, well, just a bit shit.

One designer, for instance, has decided to team up with a water filter AND a chocolate company in one week. I mean, seriously?

Anyway, I’m obsessed with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and obsessed with Erika Jayne, so anything she does is amazing. And being the face of Beauty Blender – that little round pointy sponge that people have become infatuated with – just makes sense!

Celebrating @beautyblender

Meet the Beauty Blender Swirl!

It’s a collaboration I can get behind, even though I’ll never buy or use the product. Erika Jayne (real name Erika Girardi), is not only part of the fabulous Beverly Hills cast, but she is also a singer, and has released some campery corkers!

She’s amazing. And you can buy her Beauty Blender here.

Elephant print in Mykonos…

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

Mykonos – the gift that keeps on giving.

{DISCLAIMER} I’ve been back for 2 weeks. What you gonna do?

It’s becoming more and more rare that anything excites me on the high street for us men anymore. But when I saw this top on ASOS, I #gaygasped.

As you know, elephants are my favourite animals. Ever. I support the charity Space For Giants a lot. Anyway, that’s besides the point.

The print just screamed my name.

Real Estate Talk: Someone PLEASE buy Grey Gardens!

There are a few films that define your life, that should be watched by every single person, and that are so life-affirming that they become unmissable.

Grey Gardens is one of these films.

I can list others: Paris is Burning, The Birdcage, Pink Flamingos. But Grey Gardens is truly one of my all time favourites.

If you haven’t seen it, you can watch it below, but in short, it’s a documentary film that looks into the lives of Big Edie Beale and her daughter, Little Edie (both actually called Edith Beale) – the aunt and first cousin of Jackie O. They are reclusives, but so interesting to watch.

Their Hamptons house is Grey Gardens. In the doc, you see the squalor they live in. But you can’t stop watching.

I’ve gone on too long. If you watched the film above, you’ll know all about it.

ANYWAY, Grey Gardens is for sale. Still. It went on the market at the beginning of the year, and it remains on the market.

Apparently American Express where going to rent it the whole summer to hold special events, but they received a cease-and-desist letter after disrupting the neighbourhood.

This is the house now…

And this is a video of it too…

The house is on the market for just over £13,906,000.

That’s nothing compared to the history this place has seen.

So… WHO’S GOING TO BUY IT??? See the listing here.

Celine Dion does couture…

Unless you’ve not been on Instagram for this whole week, you would have seen a regram of Celine Dion running around Paris, or on a car roof, coming and going to the fashion week couture shows.

It seems that since the death of her husband, her style has completely changed. Maybe she just wanted a complete 180, and this was the easiest thing to change. Understandable after such a tragic event.

But it has worked. Column inches have racked up, A LOT. Social media posting has increased massively. SHE’S NOW A FASHION STAR TOO!

And Vogue magazine have jumped on this with an amazing campaign… #CelineTakesCouture

“What is making the people who are interested in fashion now interested in me when I have always been interested in fashion?” So asks Celine Dion en route to the Christian Dior haute couture show, security guards in tow. She wears a tunic and mid calf skirt, tucked and belted and elevated by thigh high black boots. She has done her own makeup–as is her way–but her precise and dramatic eye contouring is obscured by the massive Dior gold shades selected by her stylist Law Roach (@luxurylaw). (“Why did you make me wear makeup if I was going to wear glasses like this?”) Celine began working with Law a little over a year ago, after her husband Rene passed and she began the long road of living again with great loss of a partner (“an amazing man”) but also the incredible blessing of “the quality of the time we spent together.” More on that later. For now it is enough to know that while Law may have contributed to the answer to Celine’s original question–why dion mania now?–the answer clearly lies with the lady herself. She keeps a master file divided into mini files of pages torn from magazines. She circles looks from collections special issues, turns down pages, and despairs when a look or accessory is not produced and the sample unbuyable. Celine Dion knows clothes. (She is also at a point in her life where she can enjoy them. Going to a fashion show “gives me a bit of freedom when my life has been work, discipline, hard hard work.”) Today at @dior there was a little work (celebrity gridlock in and out, intense heat which is never ideal with leather) and a lot of fun. Celine admires Ruth Bell’s gamine crop (“I really want a haircut like that”), the flatform boots (“the strength today!”), a wool coat dress for day with an open assymetric neckline (“like a calla lily”), the mousseline peering out from the long belted coats. After she said, “I forgot the jungle, the theme, I don’t care. I am not buying the animals, the trees. But the clothes?” she smiles. “I am already broke.” More on that later, and the significance of one legendary CD to another…. #CelineTakesCouture Photo by @sophfei.

In Vegas, Velcro panels are added to allow for her ribcage to expand or for a quick outfit change. Micro straps of elasticized chiffon prevent a slit from becoming a sloppy situation mid-squat. Shoes—always heels, never platforms—are ordered one size smaller (she is normally a 38) and refitted with metal shanks.’

I read somewhere that Celine found her new, amazing stylist, Law Roach, when her twin boys were watching Disney star, Zendaya, on something. She Googled her and fell in love with her style. Then Googled: ‘who is Zendaya’s stylist’. And voila! A star is born! Law Roach, incidentally, is an utter genius. A pure maverick in the styling game. He knows how to dress women. Anyway, Vogue posted seven Instagrams in the end, including the one above, with quotes from Celine. To say I was mesmerised is an understatement!

“They see me; I don’t see them,” is Celine Dion’s line on the great blob of paparazzi and fans that follows her everywhere. She gives them any picture they ask for, plus a great many more. Consider an appointment with at the house of Schiaparelli, where she poses for the creative director Bertrand Guyon on a window sill overlooking the Place Vendome. She wears a tiny whimsical dress of Swarovski chainmail re-embroidered with yet more crystals and high sparkly Victorian boots–a little Twiggy, a little Tina Turner. Says her dancer Pepe Munoz: “That’s a rockstar!” Says Libby Hahn, who handles public relations for the house: “I am fairly certain she was a rockstar before she put on the dress.” Says Celine’s own longtime photographer Denise Truscello (a Canadian cinephile with her own rockstar style), thinking of the long lenses poised on the place below: “Is the dress pulled down in the back?” Says Celine Dion: “They might see my butt, but I don’t think they mind.” #CelineTakesCouture Photographed by @denisetruscello A post shared by Vogue (@voguemagazine) on
