The Very Grooming: Tesco’s Pro Formula For Men…

image1 (6)

When you get a press release about a new beauty or grooming range from a supermarket chain, you might be immediately dubious. I know I was with Tesco’s new Pro Formula for Men products. But never judge a book by it’s cover!

image1 (6)So, Tesco have added some new lines to their Pro Formula for Men collection. This SPF15 moisturiser being one of them. I have to say, I was very impressed with it. The texture and the scent felt premium. It wasn’t watery, or too creamy, and when applied, it wasn’t greasy.

And, the good news is, IT’S £2.50!!!

That’s what I couldn’t get over. It’s so cheap. For a product with an SPF in it, and to include chamomile and aloe vera, and be this cheap is brilliant for men that are just starting out with their grooming regime.

I also used the new Cooling Face scrub, which is £2, and again contains chamomile and aloe vera, both great ingredients for sensitive skin. It did its job, but I didn’t love the smell. Then again though, I have been spoilt over the years with some luxury scrubs.

My skin did feel good after use though, which is the main thing.

Other lines added include a sensitive aftershave balm and a sensitive moisturiser. Check them out here.

The Very Unisex Beauty: Skyn Iceland’s Icelandic Relief Eye Pen…

photoI’m forever on the hunt for puffy, tired eye stuff (just ask Jane, my vlogging sidekick, I annoy her all the time about it). I find that first thing in the morning I have big fat bags that can last a few hours. I hate them.

And I’ve tried lots of things, namely my favourite, Clinque For Men Anti-Fatigue Cooling Eye Gel, which do help. This relief eye pen from Skyn Iceland is a great option!

I know it’s not new, but it is in my man bag. What I love is the instant cooling sensation when you apply it, it’s very refreshing. It has orange peel in it which reduces puffiness, and, like many Skyn products, it contains Icelandic kelp which helps revitalize skin and fight inflammation.

It’s not like the Clinique roller-ball applicator, it’s more like a concealer – turn the end and the cream comes out a nib. Which, somehow, feels more premium.

This is the first Skyn Iceland product I’ve used, and I’d be intrigued to try others. They say all their products are very mild yet effective, which is definitely true with this eye pen.

Buy here.

The Very Grooming: Clinique for men Oil Control Mattifying Moisturizer…

image-30

I’m not sure about you, but since getting a bit older, only a bit, I’ve found that my skin is slightly more oily than in my youth. I’m not saying I’m high-shine, I don’t have to reach for the blotting paper just yet, but I notice it.

I don’t generally like male specific products, but I have to say that a few from the Clinique for men range are some of my favourites, ones I use everyday. Like this oil control mattifying moisturizer. It does what it says on the tin, much like their whole range for us men. No more oily skin half way through the day.

Not only does it help with oil control, but, and I don’t mean to state the obvious here, but it is super mattifying. Not to the point of leaving you looking like one of those matt-finish cars, but maybe, for a good few hours anyway, slightly Instagram filtered. In a good way, obvs!

I usually alternate between this and the Lab Series PRO LS All-in-one Face Treatment.

Buy the moisturizer here, £25 for 100ml.
