A Decade Of Couture

What better way to start a new decade than with a round up of the last 10 years of couture fashion!? I’ve sat and gasped at the catwalk videos, I’ve sat open-mouthed whilst pouring over the pictures. I’ve wished and prayed to be a rich New York socialite lady of Park Avenue who can afford to wear couture to Starbucks.

I’ve always loved fashion. I can remember my mum handing me Vogue magazine after she was done with it, and I sat there gawping at the dresses, pulling the magazine up close to my face to study the details. And I’ve basically done the same with every couture season for the last decade.

Couture isn’t mass. And that’s its appeal. Not everyone can have it. It’s akin to a private members club so exclusive that only maybe the top 1% of the members can get so much as a glimpse let alone to put it on. Put mildly, it’s no Soho House.

I’ve tried to whittle couture down to a few of my most favourite looks over the last decade. It was hard, but it was also amazing to go back and revisit the collections. So enjoy!
