I couldn't let a wedding as special as my little Cat and Lee Lee's go without a little personal note...
We all know how much preparation a wedding takes; the dress, the venue, the flowers, the guests, the food, the drink, the speeches, the table plans, the table centres, the table cloths, the band etc etc and some might say that it's quite unusual to get them all completely right but I have to say, and I think there will be a lot of people who agree, that they absolutely DID. Everything was perfect.
First was the actual service, the Chuppah, which was truly breath taking. Not only did the synagogue provide such an epic backdrop for a wonderful celebration, but this was the first time we saw our little Cat in all her gorgeous bride glory. They say that a bride glows on her wedding day... Cat was beaming! As she walked in I think everyone had a tear in their eye, I know I did. From the very top of her incredibly sculptured hair, to the bottom of her magnificent lace train she oozed elegance, sophistication and an Audrey Hepburn-owitz-esque look that rivaled Audrey Hepburn's herself. I haven't said this in a long time but I was actually speechless when I saw her. I can't imagine what Lee must of felt. Her husband-to-be stood under the Chuppah looking proud and handsome. His suit was perfectly tailored, his hair was perfectly styled and his smile was perfectly justified.
The mother of the bride and mother of the bride groom looked equally as sensational. Their dresses were catwalk-worthy... they just looked amazing, each with expressions that told of their unconditional pride and love for the happy couple. The sweet little bridesmaids and pageboys carried out their duties impeccably. The flawless Maid of Honour, my little Winkie, filled her role with grace and dignity looking stunning in her floaty dress and amazing hair and makeup (done by herself, may I add!).
The party was superb. The room looked gorgeous and the band were ridiculously brilliant. More than just the actual aesthetics of the wedding though, I have to say that the feeling of unity, friendship and family have never felt so evident. I have never seen a group of friends, on both sides, so utterly loyal and close... you can't help but smile thinking about it. The welcome speech from daddy of the bride was so very sweet, the best men's speech was perfectly titillating and hubby's speech was possibly the most moving, emotional and best delivered I've heard in a long time - on a lot more than one occasions I welled up! The newly weds had beaming smiles all night and it was so clear to everyone what a perfect couple they make and what a truly special team they will make in their new life together.
Enough gushing now, apart from one more thing... what a perfect wedding, what a perfect match, what a perfect couple. Perfect.
I love you both.
