With Alexander McQueen you are never quite sure what you are going to get. Pushing the fashion boundaries is quintessentially his ‘thing’. For his men’s spring summer catwalk however, it seems Mr. McQueen has traded his Savile Row sharpness for Spanish caretaker-not-so-chic. Granted, there are a few pieces in his 24-outfit presentation (what happened to the ever-elaborate shows we are used to?) that do slightly excite and arouse fashion’s taste buds – the chalk-marked lapels and trims and his now trademark kaleidoscope print – but the rolled up bottoms of the boring beige trousers and the over-used paint splattering is all a bit done! Having said that, McQueen still remains a great innovator in the industry, regardless of the random handprints on breasts and crotches.
