Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Mark's Fast

Some people thought it was a publicity stunt, I thought it was pure genius. Mark Fast - noted knitwear extraordinaire known for his tight, daring, cobweb creations sent plus size models down his catwalk. Yes, plus size models. Yes, in tight knitwear. Although the clothes did not completely flatter the bigger models (no surprise there then!), it's so refreshing to see a bit of flesh on the catwalk rather than just fetal skeletons.
As for Mark's summer collection, his inspiration was apparently Erin Brockovich but to me he produced another knit range very much from his own head. The first half of the show focused on powder colours, and finished with black. Petal-like objects cascade down skirts and dresses, feathers make a very welcome appearance, even chains on the last look of the collection. My hat comes off to Fast for his choice in model size, however I do think he might need to step it up a bit next season. A little surprise goes a long way.

Hurrah for Berardi

It's all a load of Folly
