So I went to the Beat Cervical Cancer In Style event last night at Koko in Camden to show my support and although we were given a fabulous mini concert by the likes of Paloma Faith, Pixie Lott and the Sugababes, it was actually a great way to drum into everyone's heads how terrible the disease is and how it can be avoided.
Did you know, for instance, that THREE women die of the horrible illness every day in the UK? Or that the virus HPV that may lead to the cancer can be caught as soon as you start having sex? I didn't until last night! We also learned that a healthy lifestyle, cervical screening and vaccination are the best ways to reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Pass the knowledge on people, the more people that know, the less it could affect us.
