Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Fabulous fun fashion week roundup...

Johnny Blueeyes - these were from the presentation of his new collection of styled outfits. He's all about love, peace and freedom of expression. It was actually a breath of fresh air to watch him and his models at work. He professed, as he marched slowly up and down the catwalk in 6 inch platform thigh high boots and holding a banner with the message 'I HAVE HOPE' emblazoned on it, that it doens't matter what you look like, sound like, who you're friendly with, what your skin colour - we are all beautiful people and should be able to wear what we want.

He's a true visionary in his field; completely individual, fantastically unique and the epitome of 60s acceptance.

I especially love the 'gay' body, the bubble skirt and the peace sign embellished dress. Fab Johnny!

PPQ - I visited the showroom the day after the catwalk show at the Portico rooms in Somerset House and look what I found: gold, white and black - three colours that have been overly-prominent on the catwalk for autumn winter. The dress below was the first of a few made from velvet and what looked like pelmet fringing - very Morticia Addams. Without squandering any journalistic talent you think I may have - I kinda liked it. I hate saying that, but I didn't LOVE it and definitely didn't hate it. I could see it selling, which I suppose is a plus.

On the whole, well done Amy and Percy.

Clements Ribeiro - I'm loving the new collection of Ribeiro prints and textures. From the live presentation I saw brocade, metallics, silk, knits and fur. We've come to expect something from Ribeiro - not entirely sure what - but we certainly get it from his collection. Carefully embellished knits won me over, as did the swirly, dream-like green dyed prints. Yum!

Felder Felder - the identical twin fashion duo carry their uber-cool rock chic style through to autumn winter with a collection of fabulous coats - looks at these! The white fur comes in black, and the leather comes in a variety of options, each with an individual added extra.

J'adore!

Thank god for Jenny!
