Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

What a Relief!

Naomi Campbell did it again. Fashion For Relief that is, not hitting or screaming at anyone. And this year it was all for Haiti with a plan to raise massive amounts (I heard a reported figure of one million?) for the much in need Caribbean country. This year, all the clothes, all the gorgeous frocks and men's suits alike, are being sold on www.net-a-porter.com, so please get your plastic out - it's for a cause close to everyone's hearts at the moment.

The night proved uber-successful. Campbell has fashion power, we know that, but it got delivered in bucket loads this year. She pulled some strings, you know, the usual - getting DVF, Donna Karen, Fergie (Duchess, not singer), Alan Cumming, Kelly Osbourne, Estelle and so many more to walk the catwalk. Obviously Naomi herself could never be upstaged - she made sure of that, look at the face!!

Bless little Agyness Deyn - strutting her stuff in some fierce Burberry heels, she tumbled not once, but twice! But in true fabulous model behaviour, she decided to be a fighter, took the shoes off, and finished her catwalk with a huge grin on her face. Good on ya Aggy!

The boys looked fab too! Loving Alan Cumming's kilt, and Chris Brown's overly manly, weird, arm-swinging walk! What's that about Chris? Don't think your truly forgiven yet to be that confident love!

It was however an emotional night for all attendees. Not only was the night centered around raising money and awareness for Haiti, but it was very much a night to honour and pay tribute to the late Lee Alexander McQueen. Naomi made it very clear that the end of the show was just that, and she and a group of girls, including the lovely Helena Christensen and Daphne Guinness, marched out in some of McQueen's spring summer creations (see below). Daphne's rather daring outfit - a gold body suit and a head-to-toe length of white chiffon - was finished by hand by Alexander McQueen just two weeks previous to the show, and is reported to be his last piece ever made. It is no surprise why she, a true McQueen muse, was left emotionally broken after the show.

I think special thanks need to go to Ms. Campbell. She did an amazing job.

RIP McQueen.

Here's the highlights of the show. Please notice firstly Naomi's flawless, incomparable and fiercely fabulous walk - perfection! Secondly Estelle's boobs and thirdly how STUNNING Helena is! Phwarrr.

Enjoy!
