I bought a black belted trench from Primark the other day...yes, I did say PRIMARK. Other than cheap, faithful socks and the odd black shirt, I don't usually venture, but I think it was a total amaze find. But hang on a tick, no one told me about the genius new venture Topman have come up with - the Topman Trench Coat Project (a new film maybe?).
Topman have enlisted four great designers to re-create the ever popular men's wardrobe staple; Mihara Yauhiro, Tim Soar, B Blessing and Alister Mackie. To add to this list, Topman Design have also come up with their own take on the jacket.
Gordon Richardson, Topman Design director, said that: "The designs all have a timeless quality to them whilst subtly reflecting each designers personality and handwriting. The only difficult thing about the range will be making the decision of which one to buy."
He's right. I've had an exclusive look at all the coats, and each one is FAB! I think I've chosen my favourite though, it's actually the Topman Design version - it shows individuality and I love the colour choices with the clashing blue lining.
The coats are priced between £80 and £100 and you can pick one up from the (much improved) Oxford Circus store, shops in New York (if you're lucky enough to live there) or online at www.topman.com.
I'll wear the Primark one once out of courtesy.
What one are you gonna buy?
B Blessing - the lining of the coat has a personal poem written throughout - how romantic?
Alister Mackie - delicious paisley lining
