Hey!

Mary

It was my friends 30th birthday this weekend and she had a fancy dress party on Sunday night. The theme was what you wanted to be when you were growing up so naturally I went as Mary Poppins. I pondered going as a vet or a teacher, but I'm happy to say that Mary prevailed. I was OBSESSED. I remember yearning for a small china figure of her, I cried when my parents wouldn't but it for me, cried myself to sleep in the car and when I woke, the little china Mary was sitting next to me. They had gone back to get it whilst I was asleep. I didn't put it down for about 3 years.

I had forgotten until last night, while getting my Mary outfit ready, that my boyfriend hadn't seen the film. I said to him if he didn't watch it when we got back from the party our relationship couldn't go any further. He agreed, obviously.

Ohhh I hadn't seen it for such a long time, I'm so glad I pulled out the special edition DVD (anyone else queue up when it hit stores? Just me?). Wasn't Julie Andrews perfect in it? So gorgeous and the most amaze voice!

Here's some of my favourite clips. If you haven't seen it, don't tell me because I'd be sick, but please do go and buy it. Let's have a mass Mary Poppins viewing!! With cocktails. OMG, my perfect night!

Enjoy!

And a 'making of...' video. Pure genius!
