Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

River Island's Little Catwalk Show

I went along to a little catwalk presentation at the cool River Island offices last week. They were showcasing their new autumn winter range going into stores soon, and I have to say they did a SUPERB job at styling it up! Obviously it helps that the clothes are gorge - as high street goes, River is always up there for me - and is it me but do the shoes at River get better and better with every season? They were selective with which pieces to put into the show, and it really paid off... we were left with a healthy handful of looks that actually seemed more high end than high street.

For the boys expect some more fab tailoring (anyone else in love with the series of grey jackets last season?), cool relaxed essentials and the odd boyband-ish staples. The boots are my personal favourite, with some from last season translating to next.

And all you girls? Expect shimmering and shining and sequins (oh my!). Pleats galore. Old 50s styling and glamour. Heels remind me of Skovgaard's creations a lot with a hint of Clueless thrown in. Dressy is the word du jour!

We can also play a little bloggers game here... who can spot the amazingly talented Marian Kihogo? (she's got an air of Dolly Parton about her, always smiling and ALWAYS positive), and also the amaze Mr. Dash. A prize for the person who gets them first!

Well done River, once again.

Amongst all the fashionable people that turned up for the show, I was struck by this lovely lady's outfit. Yes, once again I'm showing my love for the harems. You won't find these particular ones in any shop, they were made by her tailor for her, in the most gorgeous fabric. Super jealous.

Today I'm BLOODY loving...
