Blogging and reading about the newest, most unique, ultra covetable clothes is one thing, but when fashion meets interiors it kinda, well... completes life! With an overwhelming yearning for my own place, I keep looking out for the best of the best in home furnishings. Forget cribs, The VSG's pile will be so ultra glam/camp/amaze, and you're all invited!
I thought I'd just show ya'll what I've been looking at, furniture wise. I think you might like it all. If only my bank balance would allow it...
First off, the home interiors giants Roche Bobois have teamed up with French fancy Jean Paul Gaultier. Probably best known for Madonna's coned boobs, JPG brings his magic touch to a range of the most incredible furniture! Featuring intricate prints, intensely beautiful colours and his signature stripes, this collection really is a fashionista's dream. The range centres around the low-seated sofas, Hans Hopfer style, fun chairs and mirrors, and gorge wardrobes. don't know prices, and quite frankly I don't care - just to look at it it enough!
I stumbled across Maarten de Ceulaer (anyone else heard of him?) on my internet travels one day and, I have to say, have become a bit obsessed with him! His 'Pile of Suitcases' wardrobe and 'The Desk of Briefcases' are so conceptual, so amazing and oh-s0 unique. Oh his website it states that Maarten "...wants to surprise, create emotions or give a subtle wink... he wants his designs to be more than just whimsy thoughts or clever but unusable ideas. A good concept in a good product is what he hopes to achieve". And by George does he achieve it!
Lastly - Jimmie Martin. I did actually interview Jimmie a while back, take a look here to have a read. All I can say is wow wow wow. I think the first thing I buy for my house will be a JM piece. Their originality can not be paralleled when it comes to furniture, also everything I have seen from them is of the highest quality. They successfully mix old and new to create bespoke amazingness - Renaissance meets fashion furniture.
