Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

From London Fashion Week A/W 2011: Paul Costelloe in full bloom...

So day two of London Fashion Week is almost over and already I feel like I've been trudging
the streets of our capital for weeks, not days.

Paul Costelloe opened the week, as he has done for I think 10 consecutive seasons now, with hues to make autumn/winter smile. His daughter actually opened the show in a crimson tweed number with those lovely deep red wine tights. She smiled all the way down the catwalk, something I strongly think designers should have models do - enough of this vacant stare, we know you want to show emotion really!

The reds continued to pour out on the catwalk. As did pinks, greens, purple and metallics, all rolled into a gorgeous autumnal collection! Thick tweeds, some sourced from Tipperary to instill some of his Irishness into the collection, and luxurious wools made set the scene for this rather girly collection.

Swing shapes there were plenty of. Jackets and dresses alike. And some more 60s revival pieces took centre stage with flared mini-skirts and dropped waists.

As usual, Paul's play list was fabulous, for me anyway, with some classic Bette Midler.

A great start to the week, don't you agree?
