How many times have we seen Lady Gaga stomp the pavements in skyscraper shoes or, more recently, the heel-less heels (falling over and all sorts mind!)? And how many times has Beyonce confidently strutted around LA in pencil thin stilettos or, which makes her SO amazing, when she does a whole two hour concert in equally high heels? The celebs are lucky though, aren't they girls? They get dropped at the door of clubs, bars, restaurants, shops etc so they can pull on the scary-height footwear knowing they don't have far to go. They don't have to get trains or tubes or, God forbid, a night bus. And they don't have to traipse around cobbled streets if they don't want to. One click of their fingers or nod of the head and their driver is there, wheel spinning or hand-break turning so not to keep them waiting.
For the rest of you mere mortal girls, there are 'car to bar' heels. Those shoes that you know will leave your feet screaming in pain if worn too long, a few blisters here and a few (Victoria Beckham) bunions there. But, as we all learnt from our mothers long ago, beauty is pain. And these shoes are beauty personified.
So don't be scared. Wear these by all means. Just do it from the pavement edge to the bar stool inside, looking fabulous while you're doing it!
Enjoy!
