As more and more brands reach out to bloggers in a PR capacity, it's exciting to see what new and creative ideas they come up with. After all, some blogs have hundreds of thousands of visitors a month, for any company this is gold dust. Events, breakfasts, dinners, parties, press days, the list is endless, and each one is equally fun if you ask me.
Karen Millen asked some bloggers to take part in a fun styling session last month. I gladly accepted because I love what Karen Millen offer on the high street - glam cum biker chic cum elegant woman fashion.
The brief: to use one of the ten spring summer key pieces that the Karen Millen team had chosen and to mix it up with anything else from the collection. You HAD to use one of the key items. Me and Dhillon did well I think, he was my assistant on the day. I got three pictures from the hour session, had a lot of fun, and loved the clothes.
Here's what I put together, hope you like!
*Look One: Key Item - sleeveless jacket*
I really love a long dress on a woman, especially one like this that can be worn in the day or at night. The colours were gorgeous, and to set them off, and to make it slightly more casual, I paired it with the sleeveless jacket. I loved how the jacket falls.
Sleeveless Jacket, £175
Tribal maxi and clutch, hit stores in May
Peep toe shoe boot, £170
It was the block colours and flirty shape of this dress that attracted me to it. I needed to use it. I tried first with bright accessories but didn't quite work, so stayed with the striped theme throughout. I wanted glam woman about town (LA probably), in a Jackie O kind of way.
Striped full skirt dress
Limited edition stripe tote
Striped court shoe
Striped waist belt
(all available in stores in May)
I thought this dress was quite Kim Kardashian, and perfect for my final look. As amazing as the model was, her curves weren't quite right for the look I was going for, but you get what I was trying to do. Loved the tailored jacket over this too, for even more glam factor.
Graphic black tailored jacket, £190
Colourblock bandage dress, £160
Tribal print clutch, £95
Cutwork shoe boot, £170
