When I saw the news on NME's website this morning, my face lit up and my heart fluttered a little (oops, out-gayed myself again!). What more could we want in the summer (other than nice weather, some Pimms and... I won't go on) than our favourite Amazonian-looking songstress Beyonce to release a new album?! NOTHING, that's what!
After three years of relative silence from Beyonce, amid pregnancy rumours and a duet with Alicia Keys that we are STILL waiting on the video for, this is the year of some new beats from music's leading lady.
NME report that: 'Sony Music Australia chief Denis Handlin told the Daily Telegraph of the plan, adding that the singer was hoping to tour the album extensively.
"It was just amazing," he said of the songs he'd heard on the record. "She came in and played us six tracks from the album. She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record... these songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she's gone to another level."'
All I can say is, in the words of Pamelaaa from Gavin and Stacey - OH MY CHRIST! It's all too exciting!
About time too Beyonce, we need you please. We need the void of fierceness filled immediately!
And it seems the star is wasting no time in getting back into the swing of things. These shots were from a shoot Beyonce was doing over the weekend in New Jersey. It's a new look for Bey... the darker lips, shaggy jacket and 70s inspired jumpsuit (is it me or does it actually not fit that well?). Her honey-coloured hair is back too.
