Last year, if you remember, Kate Beckinsale stole my heart at the Cannes Film Festival. She definitely had one of the best wardrobes out of all the stars to grace the carpets; from Balmain to Marchesa.
This year there is someone else who, even though we still have a month to wait, is getting all out hearts racing - Jacques D'Azur! When I heard that Stella Artois were making a short film about his life that will be premiered at the Film Festival, I wanted to see what the fuss was about.
Jacques was known as the 'King of Cannes'. He swanned around, looking dashing, attending all the red carpet events and lazing around countless swimming pools in the Riviera. In short, he was very much the 'It man' of his day. What's more, having an actress for a mother and a tennis instructor to the stars for a father, he had, shall we say, a rather good start to life.
He was a busy man. Not only did Jacques have a strong passion for sports (tennis, chess (a sport?), water skiing), he was also a film producer, director and an actor.
One source said: “One of the greatest attractions at the film festival was Jacques' entrance. It usually received a better critical response than the films.” In that case, it's essential that his dates looked uber chic too, wouldn't you say?
