Learning with Louboutin...

I popped in to see the lovely ladies of Louboutin yesterday to see them, and the new autumn winter collections which, by the way, are out of this world. I came away with a wealth of new knowledge too. Firstly I was given the look book for Louboutin's spring summer collection which I have to say has some of the best photography I've ever seen in any look book - they all look like something out of a David LaChapelle fantasy land shoot - colourful, animated, brilliant. Look...

Now unfortunately no photos were allowed of the new autumn winter collections, mostly due to other brands copying the shoes, so you'll just have to believe me that everyone is in for a shoe-treat come August-ish. But I have a few exclusive things to tell you though...

Girls, expect...
  • Lots of fur: on bags (a shoulder bag AND a muff all in one in fox fur) and on shoes (red and black fur on the front of platform peep toes and backs of pumps)
  • Google-eyes applied all over shoes, as shown in The Blonds show
  • Lots of chunky heels, 70s inspired
  • Mary Katrantzou's printed ankle boots
  • Bags bags and more bags: small shoulder bags with fierce statement shoulder pieces as straps - think spikes and crystals, studs, little bells and handmade Indian tassels! Also small little soft-box bags, the new shape for autumn

Boys, expect...

  • Tartan pointed shoes, and tartan slip ons with all-over studs (need tartan everything!)
  • Black studs on black shoes - sounds weird, looks gorgeous
  • Soft glitter trainers
  • Todd Lynn's buckle trainers in gorgeous leather
  • Patent treated python high tops

I also learned about photographer James Mollison. Nell, one of the fabulous PR girls at Louboutin, sung his praises, especially of his Disciples project. On his website it explains that over three years he photographed fans outside different concerts, focusing on the way they express themselves as the celebrity they have gone to see. Dolly Parton was Nell and I's mutual ground when it came to James Mollison's work, she remembered his shot below. Such a great idea!

Enjoy!

*Rod Stewart*

*Missy Elliot*

*Madonna*

One more thing... how amazing is this pair of shoes? They are named 'Police', as in Fashion Police! Tape measures up the leg, genius. I suggested they send these to Joan Rivers to wear on E! Fashion Police, but not sure how steady she'd be in them. They are actually for sale now, check out stockists on the Louboutin website.

And here ends my day of learning with Louboutin. Hope you enjoyed!

I know we're approaching summer but... (Westwood alert!)
