Having worked in a hair salon for two years I saw some big hair. Some really big hair. In fact I used to push the stylists to blow dry every customer's barnet with the same big elegance as, say Farrah Fawcett. And what's more, most of the strong, powerful women I love have big hair, seems to be a pattern emerging me thinks. Hell, I even sport the big curls every so often!
What's more, I watched Hairspray the other day, the old, original version, and forgot just how amazing the hair was in the movie. From Ricki Lake to Debbie Harry to Divine, the locks were perfect. More recently we've seen Elle Macpherson step out with a big blow dry day after day just to pick up the kids, and loads of hair pieces on the catwalks of late. Then we have Dolly and her many big wigs, Beyonce and Tyra Banks who opt for some big weave... and the list goes on and on.
