I know the sun is...kind of coming out now, and the last thing we want to see is autumn winter clothes, but honestly, you gals are in for a treat from the Arcadia family. Starting with Wallis, who keep surprising me every season, and then to Dorothy Perkins who, in my opinion, are getting better and better.
For autumn Wallis are high glam central. Big faux fur trims to (60's shape) coats, dresses and tops, leather paneled pieces, floaty pleated skirts and dresses with a sense of hard-edge sophistication and, amazingly, the most gorgeous array of coats I've seen since the Burberry catwalk back in February. This is the high street doing it so so well. I also spotted some of the BIGGEST hair on mannequins I've ever seen, which ties in perfectly with my BIG hair obsession at the moment. All this will be in stores come July/August/September time. Put it in your diaries!
***DOROTHY PERKINS***
We all know how massive the 70s trend is going to be in the next few months, the fashion mags are saturated in it, but please, this is never a bad thing. It means colour, pussy-bows, blouses and fierce power dressing. Did I mention colour? Let me tell you, walking into the DP room yesterday was like standing in a bag of Skittles, a delectable fashion treat of monotone outfits (hue on hue shoes, tights, skirts, blouses) and bright pop trousers that are pure class.
