Anyone else notice the MASSIVE explosion of fur all over the autumn winter 2011 catwalks? It seemed that every designer going decided to use the pricey, and controversial, fabric. Alexander Wang, Blugirl, Burberry, Giles, Fendi, Just Cavalli, Michael Kors, Todd Lynn, McQueen and Prada to name but a few. And, as a mini trend, there was lot's of coloured fur too which, without sounding like I'm condoning the use of it, added rich hues to sometimes very dark collections.
I wont condone the use or wearing of fur. After seeing a TV programme last year on the farming of different animals for the use of it in fashion, I personally would never wear it (I won't go into the details, but it put me off ever wearing fur for life). Obviously what others do is up to them, and it can look super glam on the right person, I just would not go there.
However I thought I'd just share a few pics from the catwalks and beyond, I was quite mesmerized with some of the colours. Fur, more than any other fabric, takes to colour extremely well.
What do you think of fur? Would you, or do you, wear it? And are you loving the colours?
