Riccardo Tisci, you make me VERY happy. We're used to seeing the dark, moody, neo-gothic side of fashion from the house of Givenchy for us men - don't get me wrong, I've looked upon every collection with fashion-lust - but for spring summer 2012 Tisci has blown all that out the water with his most... exotic collection to date.
Birds of Paradise. My favourite flower and, it seems, Tisci's inspiration. Actually, more than inspiration, muse if you will, for most of the clothes feature the kaleidoscopic print of said flower and if it's not printed, it's certainly 'there' in various shades of the greens, purples and/or pinks it is composed of.
Tees, shirts, whole suits, leggings (still no for me, even if they are Givenchy), skirts (maybe), sweaters, half sweaters... you name it, the Bird was present. More simple tailoring in army green, powder green, white and off white, with a few pixelated prints and sequins made up the rest of this most desirable collection.
Riccardo, just to let you know, I'd be happy to take it all off your hands for next year or, in fact, for right now. I'd kill for one of the tees for this weather!
Did you love it as much as me?
