Never mind the clothes, D Squared was all about their half naked men for spring summer 2012. I've actually never seen so many Baby Oiled torsos, so many (fake?) tans, so much blatant agenda pushing in my life! I'm not complaining, oh no. I daren't. I'd be fully reprimanded by the women and gays who want to see it, and quite rightly so! You can always rely on brother designer duo Dean and Dan Caten to lavish us with the appropriate man candy on their catwalks... summer's never looked so HOT!
It's a distraction, a nice one at that. Of their new collection, Dean and Dan tell us that it mainly consists of "sartorial-minded sportswear for guys who aren't afraid of color." Which is exactly what it is. The catwalk started with layered wearable day pieces, something DSquared is excellent at, then came our man candy, models stripping off on the catwalk in lots of beachwear, and it finished with some rather lovely evening wear. A complete collection if ever there was one.
Standouts for me, excluding the 6-packs, were all the tiger print pieces. Love some animal references!
