'Tis the time of year where fashion press people get to see a bit of Christmas. I know we're in July, but really... look outside, does it look like the height of summer? I think not. Which is why, quite frankly, I don't mind looking (and cooing) at autumn/winter clothes.
River Island never disappoint. As a Christmas collection goes, this was a good one. Smart sophistication followed by fun flapper-50s-style pieces followed by dapper looking boys. There was embellishments, as there often is with River Island, and all were very welcome. Feathers, crystals and zips.
Ya'll have to wait a bit longer for this stuff to hit stores, probably September time, but it's well worth the wait, just in time for party season!

Also a MASSIVE thank you to River Island for very kindly taking me to Love Box yesterday. I don't normally 'do' festivals, but I'm so glad I did this one - Beth Ditto... OMG look at the pics below. Unfortunately it was quite rainy and muddy, but it's all part of the experience (he says, thinking in his head he'll never go to another festival again!). We did have lots of fun though. I got quite drunk - again, all part of it, but thankfully didn't do anything embarrassing, like falling head first into the mud!
Keith, you were the perfect host. Thank you SO much! I think one of the funniest moments was when Keith (lovely PR at RI) screamed when Debbie Harry was on. I thought it was because he loved her, but in fact it was because she had a River Island feather festival hat hanging from her mic stand. Bless him!!!
