Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Aqua opens up for the men!!

I've long been a fan of AQUA's women's clothes. If ever there was a label that knew how to define the body, sculpt it perfectly, add dimension and hard edges to clothes yet still keep them very wearable and versatile, it's AQUA. Neat little peplum details, origami twists, seamed definition all define the AQUA women's products.

You can imagine my delight when I found out that their very first standalone men's store was coming to London then?! Tucked away on Beak Street, W1, the small but perfectly formed shop houses the new men's collection that, according to Laura, one of AQUA's founders, took six months to create.

The store is aesthetically as you'd imagined. Hard edges, glass, industrialism, nothing to take away from the main focus - the clothes. Which hang as statement after statement. For spring summer/ autumn winter, the AQUA man will be wearing, thankfully, quite a lot of colour. Polo shirts with contrast panels in mint green, navy and yellow, thick red denim, mustard and a monochrome palette.

More than anything though, the clothes fit well. Very well. Some are intentionally oversized, which is fine by me, but they don't hang like tents. They still, somehow, skim and flatter.

If you don't have time to head down to the shop, or you don't live in London, you can now shop the men's collection online too...

You've got a big fan here AQUA. I really big one.

Enjoy!

*One half of the AQUA empire, Laura, looking draped and amazing, in AQUA, obvs!*
Of the new men's store and collection, Laura comments on the blog:

"It’s been a long emotional journey. Tomorrow, Aqua’s first mans standalone store opens it’s doors with a brand new collection. We’ve been working on this for 6 months. It’s new, it’s a risk and it’s about fucking time. What I mean is, it’s a departure – an evolution. Maybe more of a revolution. But nevertheless, it’s amazing. It’s something we are proud of. Enjoy.
