Versace's 1990s are alive once again, thanks to Holly Fulton's incredible spring summer 2012 designs.
'For SS12 Holly Fulton has produced a collection for the lady that having blow her annual budget takes a vacation a little closer to home. In full holiday spirit and dressed for Vegas - she hits Margate' says the show notes. What a treat Margate has in store then.
The one show that I am most excited about every season, Holly Fulton's amazing prints and signature style once again left me smiling from ear to ear. I knew I liked her. The show notes continue: 'With a nod to signature Pucci and the decadence of early Versace circa 1990, prints are layered and embellished to create a look reminiscent of seaside souvenirs'. Seeing as I am having a love affair with 1990's Versace, it stands to reason I'd love every piece of Holly's.
Lots of silk, in the form of wide leg trousers and dresses, with sparkly embellishments, some feathers and bright, swirly Versace-esque prints made this collection my favourite of fashion week so far.
Intricate coral prints, seahorses, shells, zebra print... all in all in a fabulous collection. And one that is summed up perfectly with reference, once again, to the show notes: 'The resulting look is a hybrid Shelley Winters/C.Z. Guest decked out in head-to-toe nineties-esque Versace paired with excessive nautical jewellery and a hint of Sharon Stone in Scorsese's Casino'.
The only thing missing was Joan and Jackie Collins from the front row. That would make this glamorous collection absolutely complete.
