Helen Mirren has shown us, a number of times, that age has absolutely nothing to do with fashion. We've seen her in a skimpy bikini on the beach (amazing body), in head-to-toe leopard print gowns (amazingly daring) and figure-hugging dresses. And tonight, at the British Comedy Awards 2011, the dame showed us that no matter what age you are (66, ahem), it's never too old for a few Dolce and Gabbana stars.
Here she is wearing a lace panel dress from D&G's autumn winter 2011 collection. Now, here's the thing, I salute Helen, I really do, but - sorry but there is a but - I think this dress is a little too much for her. Don't hate me, please. It's just that I do think, in this instance, that this particular dress is very... young. That's not to say that she doesn't look hot in it, because she does. I know I sound like I'm contradicting myself, I suppose I am slightly, it's just there are other ways to show off your body without using lace panels.
I do however think there were other dresses in the collection that would have been more appropriate, still featuring star print..
