Last night I came face to face with one of my all time idols and one of the last remaining true Hollywood stars - Joan Collins. I was at Harvey Nichols for the launch of their new Designer Garden when in swept Joan, all glamour and big hair, who was also celebrating her 79th birthday - yes 79! Before Harvey Nics though, she met the Queen!
Thanks to Joan's friend Ivan Massow (who she was around town with last night) and his brilliant Instagram-ing, we were all able to see the moment she met the Queen. And it wasn't just Her Majesty. Joan was seen with Dame Shirley Bassey and Kate O'Mara - another two of my ultimate Goddesses - at the Royal Academy of Arts for a Jubilee celebration (errm, where was my invite ladies?).
Ivan also snapped Joan with her birthday cake, see below. Anyone else think she wouldn't have a piece of cake for all the wigs in the world? How else does she stay so trim?!
Unfortunately I didn't quite manage to say hello to Joan because some idiot at Harvey Nichols almost spilled a drink over her. To avoid disaster, she ran hell for leather outta there! Damn! Next time though.
