Viewing anything Versace up close and personal is definitely a job high light for me. Now I know I spoke about the Autumn Winter 2012 collection being quite 'samey' in the fact that most of it focused around the cross, but I have to say you can NEVER judge a collection on just the catwalk pictures.
Up close the dresses, tops and trousers take on a whole different dimension. Intricate cross cut out and lattice detail, piercing-type hoops and holes, coloured furs, prints and metal hardware made my jaw drop to the floor!
You'll see below that the men's pieces have taken on their own personality too. I spoke with the global director at this press event who told me that Donatella is 'relaxing the shape for men, less structured and fitted and more loose'. This was evident with the amazing winter coats on offer for next season (just look at that red one!). And that shearling bag... the PR had to eventually prize it out my hands!
