I should have really posted this with Shaun Samson below because I have a feeling I'm going to be using all the same adjectives when talking about Joseph Turvey. But oh well, he needed his own separate post...
I discovered Joseph's work when I attended the London College of Fashion MA graduate show last year. I gasped when I saw it come down the catwalk, and I gasped when I saw it again on the weekend.
Joseph was showing his spring summer 2013 collection as part of the exhibition, and I think he thought I was stalking him as I went to look at his clothes at least once a day. I managed to convince him to talk through his collection on camera, and of course I used my Nokia Lumia to film him. Have a look at the video below.
He sketches all the fictional men and the floral prints, then screen prints them onto the pieces. I think I just love illustration as fashion because it's Joseph's use of his harem of sketched equally handsome, made up men and flowers that leaves me quite obsessed with his designs.
