Off me and my Nokia Lumia went to have a look round the fabulous Fashion East installation's of the London Collections: Men only to find two of the best presentations, in my opinion, of the weekend.
Kit Neale, who triumphs in some of the best prints in mens fashion I've ever seen, presented his new spring summer 2013 collection - 'One fing 'n 'anuvver'. There were lobsters, fish, planes and more lobsters. The collection was based on British seaside resorts with a theme park size snake-ride in attendance.
It's all about having fun with fashion, and that's exactly what Kit does. This is tongue-in-cheek sartorial fun at it's best. And for someone who has worked with Gareth Pugh (to name just one big designer) in the past, this is where Kit fits in best. Actually, there is no 'fitting in' with Kit's designs.
And T. Lipop. Or Tom as he's also known. He says that his spring summer 2013 collection "...references sugar skulls, Mexican culture and the English on holiday". The small room in which Tom fitted A LOT was an explosion of colour and flowers. He cleverly used the space he was give by putting the models inside cupboards, even the high up ones. It was amazing to see.
And so was that makeup. Not since Lady Gaga's fully tattooed man have I seen this kind of detail before. Was quite scary but brilliant all the same.
The floral prints and Mexican shoes were my favourites.
Another one to watch. Big time!
