It was off to Paris for me last Thursday for men's fashion week (which kind of explains the radio silence since then, apologies). I've never been over there for fashion's sake, so it was a new experience for me. As was attending the Kenzo catwalk show.
Sitting in Paris' Maison du Judo, looking over the balcony at large, yellow square stages (where the models eventually stood) had everyone guessing as to what we were going to get from the original French safari label, but when squawk forest noises started playing AND STUNT MEN STARTED TO JUMP OFF THE BALCONIES, it was obvious that we were going back to wildlife.
Tres impressive.
Kenzo has never really been on my radar up until now, but seeing the tiger embroidered jumpers and coats, the big blotchy 'camo' prints and a new, boxy shape... I'm kind of hooked. What's more, this was probably the best show I saw over the four days. Memorable not only for the apparel but for the theatricality of it all, that's how to give good catwalk.
