Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian speak to The Very Simon K...

This is how it went...

'Dear The Very Simon G, we would like to invite you to interview Kim and Kourtney Kardashian while they are here in the UK for the launch of the Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins.'

*Simon G faints with shear overwhelming shock and joy*

And when I came to, it was still real, not a dream. Not my mind playing sick, amazing jokes on me. I was to sit face to face with Kim and Kourtney to talk fashion. FINALLY!

So off I went last week, to London's Dorchester Hotel (where I actually had tea with Jackie Collins only a few weeks previous, a WHOLE other blog post!), to interview my long lost sisters. I'd been silently gearing myself up all day, keeping calm, but people just kept on asking if I was OK, if I was nervous. I never get nervous before interviews. Five minutes before though, when I was waiting on the other side of the door to the woman who has her very own tab on this blog (look up), I was all of a sudden nervous. Dry mouth and everything.

Then I got ushered in. And I fainted. JOKE.

There they were, Kim and Kourtney, surrounded by a mist of glamour and that sweet sweet Kardashian scent, along with a host of E! crew members and an uninterested manager/PA/straw holder. The girls were sat round a big table with a plate in front of them both: Kourtney had a burger, Kim had soup, not that they ate in front of us. It was for effect me thinks.

Kim was mesmerising. Although she always looks gorgeous in magazines, pictures don't do her any justice, and that's saying something. Sitting opposite me, she was flawless. Hair perfect, make up looked painted on, and that famous cleavage on show. If I was straight, my eyes would have firmly been fixed into position. Kourtney's hair was scraped up in an impressive bun, but as per the TV show, her expression looked less than impressed. That's just her though.

We (I shared my time with friends Ella from Coco's Tea Party and Katherine from Red Carpet Fashion Awards) started firing our questions, and the girls responded accordingly. I have to say, Kourtney was slightly more animated with her answers, Kim was straight to the point. Years of similar interviews and media training does that to a gal.

Did I mention the E! crew were filming us too? Yup, they were, so look out for three wide-eyed bloggers - mine slightly more than the other two - on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. We BETTER be on it. I was giving the best face.

Anyway, here's what the girls had to say. Enjoy!

We don't grow women like you in the UK, what's your perception of the ladies over here?
Kim: I think they're SOO stylish and really effortless. Sometimes I think that in the States we spend too much time putting it all together. There's definitely a cool factor over here.

Do you have any British style icons?
Kim: Kate Moss is definitely one. In terms of designers, I love Stella, McQueen. I love their Houses and everything they stand for.

What do you like to see your other halves in, and vice versa?
Kim: I think a man in a suit is really really really attractive. He likes me in just a bunch of different stuff.
Kourtney: Scott and I don't really give our opinions to help dress each other, but I think he puts himself together so well on his own. He goes through phases: he was into blingy chains at one point, but I've never once been like "get rid of this, don't do that".

What's your favourite pieces i the collection?
Kourtney: I love the tops because I feel like you can wear them with anything.
Kim: I'm really excited about this one sequinned dress that I'm wearing to the party, it's long sleeve and backless.

DASH London has a good ring to it, might you be branching out overseas?
Kim: It's one of our biggest requests, but it's about finding the right people to run it because we don't spend a whole lot of time here. (To which I replied... 'I'll do it, I'll run it!')

How would you sum up the collection:
Kim: To me, I think the line is very sexy business wear. I think you can wear a lot of the pieces to the office and then transition it into going out at night.

Do you ever disagree in the different processes? And who gets the final say?
Kourntey: Two sisters HAVE to agree. Khloe was going through the designs while we were in Miami and we had to review her notes and everything she likes, we didn't. We are out ruling her.
Kim: We need to NEVER have Khloe do it again.

How has your style changed over the years?
Kourtney: When I'm in mummy mode, my favourite mode, that's when I love wearing flats. I think you can be chic and stylish in that mode too. I'm all about comfort and what's practical, and then when I'm doing work stuff with my sisters, it's fun to put on heels and dress up. I love flats though!
Kim: I never do flats. You walk differently in heels, that's why I wear them the whole time.
