Personally, I think Cate Blanchett is probably one of the best dressed A listers on the red carpet. She's so statuesque, and where as a lot of people on the carpets lose the battle of being swamped by their couture, Cate ALWAYS wears the dress, and not the other way round.
Here she is, at the second Annual AACTA Awards in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday evening, wearing a red sequinned Geisha-like Armani Privé dress.

I love Cate Blanchett here. It's a marriage made in fashion heaven. It's wear classic meets classique.You can't get a more harmonious union. This Asian-inspired red piece left me totally gobsmacked. The only other thing I can say is... ALL HAIL THE RED CARPET QUEEN. Long may she reign.
As statuesque as Cate looks here, I think the plastique-look really does not suit her usually regal elegance. I think this is a misplaced fashion choice, and I am not sure if is hers' or a stylists?
I kind of love this dress for its Jessica Rabbit meets The Little Mermaid qualities. She has an amazing body, therefore can carry it off and has accessorised it perfectly. Those earrings are fab and the understated make up is perfect - anything more would have been tacky. Love that mad hemline, it feels a little bit rebellious! Anyone who can carry this look off at 43 gets my vote!

Just look at her! Never mind the red carpet, this red frock is now on the list of Cate's best dresses. The list is getting longer and longer mind you, on account of her AMAZING choices. Can you win an Oscar for best personal wardrobe? Cate should win.
