Hey!

Welcome to The Very Simon G. My blog has been going for nearly a decade, but there ain’t getting away from me just yet! Come in for fashion, fun and everything in between. Enjoy!

Blog Off: Karolina Kurkova in Michael Kors...

Let's face it, super models are that rare species that can make a bin bag look uber chic. It's their job. They're paid to make things look amazing. So it's no wonder that Karolina Kurkova, on Wednesday at the Michael Kors fashion week show, made this striped trouser and shirt combo look so effortless. On anyone else, it might have looked... crap.

Karolina LOVES to do the masculine/feminine look. And she does it oh-so-well. Not long ago, she knocked my socks off in a china-print Roberto Cavalli suit. She's definitely a best dressed for me, all the time.

But did this outfit go down well with the masses? Here's what some blogger friends thought...

I love Karolina and I love all these pieces - the coat, the shirt and the trousers - but not together. And definitely not with the matchy white accessories. Is she holding her bag a little bit like Vicky Beckham? Ok, she gets a point for that.

Stripes are really winning me over at the moment. I love the look apart from the white elements added into it. The coat tones everything down but then the looped white belt just brings it all right back up to the surface. I think if she had opted for a skinny black belt and a small clutch instead of a folded down tote it would have done her more favours.

***Fashion Foie Gras***
If ever there were a question as to what the lead trend is for spring/summer 2013, Karolina has it answered. It's a stripe nation come the first sign of sun, and Karolina has her finger so firmly on the trend pulse, like any true super model. She's rocking this look!

***And moi...***
This is one hot look. If I was a women, this is literally what my wardrobe would comprise of. Power dressing is the ultimate for me, and I think Karolina does it PERFECTLY here. Yes, the white accessories are slightly 'Essex', but somehow they work. It's such a bold statement, I can't not love it!
