I often find when stars go through style transformations it means they are either just bored of their stylist or desperately trying to garner more press. We let Madonna 're-invent' (cringe) herself time and time again because it was new and different. Now, not so much. However with Miley Cyrus, I find myself both mesmerized and uber impressed. Gone are the days of her Disney preciousness. A new, rocked up Miley is here now. Hopefully to stay too. She's cut her hair... almost completely off, which seems to have instilled a new way of thinking through her wardrobe. It's a powerful thing! Here's Miley on Monday wearing a crop top and midi-skirt from Marc Jacobs' Resort 2014 collection for the recording of a 'Good Morning America' show. And here's what some blogger friends thought...

I am loving Miley’s risky, slightly trashy transformation of late. This is another great look, I love the perforated detailing and the lady-like length of the skirt. What I think works is that the skirt falls just below her knee, it stops it from looking trashy with the tiny bra top and her midriff on show. I also love her vibrant red lippy – works perfectly with her blonde pixie cut.

I'm actually quite a big fan of Miley Cyrus, but I'm not that keen on the "edgier" style she's been favouring lately. I do, however, like this look. It's the perfect balance of Miley's punky vibe and Marc's chic. The matching red nails and lips are a nice touch, and combined with the white stiletto heels they give the crop top a polished edge.
***Ella from La Petite Anglaise***I'm probably going to be lampooned for saying this but I kind of love what Miley's got going on style wise at the moment. Between the bleached mohawk, red lippy and flesh flashing she's rocking a Courtney Love meets Rhianna vibe, tasteful it most certainly isn't but it works!
***And moi...***
This outfit is GENIUS! For someone who doesn't really like crop tops and skirts on anyone, I have completely fallen in love with this set. Miley just makes it all work. It's the showing of skin but keeping the skirt length ladylike that does it for me. The perfect balance of Upper East Side and 'I don't give a fuck' all in one.
