London Fashion is well and truly over, and Milan is in full swing, but it does take some time to wade through the thousands of pictures from all of the collections that were shown over here in the five days.Contrary to popular belief, I don't have some little fashion leprechaun intern in the corner of my office trawling through the images, jumping up and down shouting every time he/she sees something I might gush over. Oooo I'd love someone like that though! No, apart from actually attending a few shows this season, it took me some time to figure out which women I want to be for spring and summer of next year. And I've finally decided...
***First: the Antonio Berardi Woman***
She of the exquisite floaty skirts, blush croc effect and this trouser and jacket combo in the most perfect metallic leopard print that money could buy and with leg contours that are uber clever.
***Second: the Ashish Woman***
Sequins are one thing, a Coca Cola collaboration is another, but this, altogether, is just kiss-your-fingers-in-an-Italian-kind-of-way amazing. That bag will be IT next season. Mark my words.
***Third: the Christopher Kane woman***
I get it now. It took me a while. But I finally get Kane's genius. These aren't tear drops, no, they represent 'sterilized petals' as part of Kane's SS14 photosynthesis master class. A triumph in a dress (read collection).
***Fourth: the Emilia Wickstead Woman***
Move over Duchess, it's my turn. This dress, in all its billowy zingyness, is the face of summer 2014. Or my version of it anyway: in LA, wearing this to a mansion in the hills to a star's party. YES.
***And fifth and final: the Mary Katrantzou Woman***
The queen of prints has now taken to shoes as inspiration, and this dress of huge, blown up brogue print is so whimsically charged, I almost fainted looking at it. It's magical. And the shape is utterly mesmerizing too.
See my top women from Milan fashion week soon!
