I don't think my contact at Marks and Spencer was expecting such a long list of items when he told me to pick some key pieces for this shoot. I couldn't stop adding things. Which surprised me.For almost 20 years my sister has worked for M&S, a visual merchandise area manager, and for nearly my entire adult life I've walked past one probably every day, yet still I haven't really bought anything for my wardrobe from there. I think there's a stigma with it being for an older generation. Yet after putting this shoot together, I think it's evident that it is, in fact, all in the styling.This is my friend Lee who very kindly agreed to model. He was surprised that it was all from M&S. I like that about these pieces. I wanted to put a youthful, cool spin on the clothes, and I think I achieved that. The last outfit, the pink shirt, was updated simply by doing the buttons up to the top, turning the sleeves up and throwing a backpack over it. And rolling up the legs of these straight cut red chinos to make them a slimmer fit transformed them.I LOVED styling this shoot. Was tres fun. And of course I HAD to get Dhillon and his friend Patrick in there too, just to add something to that amazing three-piece suit (check out more M&S suits here).
