I strive to keep this blog as fabulous as possible, hence why I always gush about big dramatic gowns and my favourite old school divas. I don't know if you saw my first GLA-MAZING Conversation with Jo Elvin, Editor of Glamour magazine (watch here), but I want to do a lot more, and do have more fabulous people booked in for some video interviews. In the meantime though, I got to ask fabulous interior designer to the A listers, and star of Channel 4's Four Rooms, Celia Sawyer some questions. But first, see her here in action. Here is a clip of Celia obsessing over some Alexander McQueen (click on the image to view)
The Very Simon G: Before Four Rooms there was your successful interior design business. Is your house just full with amazing finds? And what's your favourite piece in your home?Celia: Well my house continuously changes as I buy and sell various collectables, I especially change things on the walls. I have some beautiful pieces. I can't mention some for obvious reasons but I have a fantastic art collection and curiosity cabinet. One of my favourite pieces is my road kill couture - I'm waiting for the right occasion to wear some of it!TVSG: You clearly love fashion too, but what does it mean to you?Celia: For me fashion is incredibly important as it's an extension of my personality.TVSG: You're the only woman in the Four Rooms cast, that must be quite a power kick? Are you a feminist at heart?Celia: I love to see women in an equal role to men, it's great to see women succeeding in business. Quite honestly I don't feel any different from some of the men on the show. And in fact I'm probably more masculine than some of them!TVSG: Interior design is much like styling - your interpretation on what looks good. How would you describe your style, clothes and interiors?Celia: Very cool and glamorous, chic with an edge of rock and roll. This applies to my style and my interiors!TVSG: Have you got any female role models? And if so, why them?Celia: No but I do admire a lot of women that work hard and achieve their dreamsTVSG: If you had to choose a designer to wear for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?Celia: The one and only Tom Ford. The reason why is because his clothes are glamorous, sexy and his clothes make women feel really feminine!!TVSG: What's your most couture item of clothing you own?Celia: I've got the most amazing dress that was designed by Carolyn Cleverly. I wore it to the inspiration awards for women when I won last October. It's crochet threads and is very organic.TVSG: Any tips on how to keep wardrobes neat and tidy? Or are you more of a 'floor-drobe' person?Celia: My wardrobe is complete chaos. Strangely enough even though I have order in my interior design my clothes are all mixed up. However every night I choose what I'm going to wear the next day and I'm never indecisive!TVSG: Out of all the things you've seen in Four Rooms, what's the one thing you lost out on that you most regret?Celia: I missed out on some Alexandra McQueen prototype dresses, which I really really wanted. Geoff Salmon beat me to them!TVSG: Who in the celeb world always gets it right, and who always gets it wrongCelia: I couldn't possibly say who gets it wrong! It's a bit unfair as there's a lot of pressure in this industry to be dressed well, and we can all get it wrong. I love Heidi Klums elegance on the red carpet and Joan Collins for an older lady always looks immaculate
