It's not all about the women at the Golden Globes you know! There were a few dressed-to-the-nines men too. Alan Cumming being one of them. He's not one to shy away when on a red carpet. We've seen him don printed suits time and time again, but here, he's gone for the same-hue look, in this Calvin Klein Collection spring 2015 suit, teaming it with Christian Louboutin hi tops. Now, obviously this isn't to everyone's taste, but what I do love about Alan is that he owns every look he chooses. Un-apologetically.But what did some blogger mates think? Scroll down to see...

I'm not normally the kind of person to slam someone's sartorial choices, BUT there is not one positive thing I can say about this ensemble. Unflattering colour and the Louboutins only make things worse. Quite why he would choose such a terrible pair is beyond me. Sorry Alan, it's a no from me.

In the context of Alan Cumming's wardrobe, this is pretty tame. There's something a bit minimal 90s about the matching jacket/shirt/tie combo and it's yet to look cool again. The high-tops are a nod to his personality, but not enough to stop the rest of the outfit washing him out.
I love Alan Cummings sense of style, he's always ready to try something new and push the envelope. Overall I really like this look, it's not easy to pull off, but I think he does it. The let down though is that he looks overly made up, like he's just come off stage from Cabaret and not had time for a quick clean. I'd also have told him to only do up the top button on the suit jacket. Other than that it looks good and is a refreshing change from traditional black tie, and at least it's not some awful shorts suit (I still haven't forgiven Pharrell for that Oscars debacle)

You know what, I really don't mind Alan's look! He wanted to do something slightly different and stand out from the boring malaise of classic black tuxedos. That's HIM, and good on him. OK, I maybe wouldn't have put the suit and hi tops together, but he did and it made a nice change. You can always count on him to do something different and the suit is impeccably cut and fits him well.
