I've got to tell you, if I could live in a Fornasetti world, I would. Obviously I'd throw in a bit of Versace too, but I'm talking wallpaper, furniture, art, bed, the lot. Most of which, you can currently buy. But, unfortunately, unless I rob a bank, I'll have to wait until my bank balance magically grows, and just take in the bits of Fornasetti I do own for now. Or head to Paris, to the new and amazing looking exhibition at Les Arts Decoratifs which recently opened housing lots of Piero Fornasetti's works. And although Fornasetti is now mostly known for that famous eye print - belonging to opera singer Lina Cavalieri, he found a picture of her in a 19th-century magazine - we mustn't forget that he was, in fact, an artist of extraordinary talent. And this exhibition shows all sides to him that you may not have known. The archive of his works is huge, and is now used by his son, Barnaba, to create new and exciting pieces of home decor, and has been opened up for this exhibition. Expect to see paintings, sketches, books, prints and collections of home-wear which, when put all together, is hugely impressive. If you're in Paris, this is a must-see. It's on until June 14th, so it's a great excuse to get on the Eurostar for a day trip. Book tickets and find out more here. There's an exclusive candle too, made just for the exhibition, available in the shop of the exhibition and at Selfridges.
