I recently read that Resort, or pre collections as they're sometimes called, now contribute to up to 50% of income to some fashion houses. In case you're bad at maths, that's a HUGE amount of money. Ruffles, bows, and a whole lot of circus references, something Victoria took massive inspiration from for this collection. In fact, some of the images used as prints have been lifted from old Victorian circus posters.VICTOR VICTORIOUS!This is - and bear with my dramatics - the best collection Victoria has ever produced if you ask me. And I'm talking across her mainline, VVB and Denim brands. This is what she should have ALWAYS done.Some super fun, OTT pieces (like the above and the first image of the two helter skelter-esque dresses) to garner some press, and those uber wearable items too, for the serious buyer - the flower embellished jacket below, cute summer dresses and the shirt/jeans combo which is just so chic!
So this might be the most fabulous print I've seen in a LONG time from any designer. Actual elephants, my favourite animal, atop this grey, swirly, Fleur-de-lis design. Pure amazingness.
