Ain't nobody better to flog your own stuff, than yourself!
Victoria Beckham is the queen of self promotion. It's official. Since launching her label in 2008 (has it really only been eight years?), we've seen Queen Vic in practically every piece from every collection - from the Roland Mouret-esque structured dresses of yesteryear, to her current pre-fall 2016 offering of super-cigarette trousers (the look above) and roll neck knits (below, orange).
And we LOVE her for it. She's a walking advert for her own brand. It's genius.
Granted, it helps that she is a celebrity in her own right. When she's out and about, the whole world knows about it. That is obviously the huge difference between her and her designer peers. Possibly Donatella Versace is the only exception.
What a week Victoria Beckham (the brand) has had! Every day since Saturday, Beckham (the woman) has stepped out in a piece from current and past collections that are both enviable and amazing. Like today (Wednesday 10th), in this amazing printed trouser and coat combo, directly from her pre-fall 2016 collection...
We also saw Victoria in more pre-fall loveliness, like this white trouser suit - something difficult to wear for most women, but then Victoria isn't most women!
And then we saw her rock the big, comfy, oversized knits (below), in white and navy, from her autumn winter 2015 collection too. Both worn with skirts (LOVE this look), and those black boots that seem to be a constant footwear choice for Victoria lately.
It's a clever move from VB. She's not only showing off the versatility of her creations, but also ways to style the pieces (knits with skirts and printed trouser and coat combos might not be outfits that some women would ever think of).
Expect LOTS more of this self promotion. Well, if she does continue to design great clothes (designing for herself really!), why wouldn't she wear them?
