The first year of menswear at Pure London!
Pure London, if you didn't know, is a fashion trade show which, in layman's terms, basically means 'industry'. It's HUGE, and every year is held at London's Olympia - THAT big - where fashion buyers from around the world come to sniff out the new brands that they simply must buy into.
'That's not a place for a fashion blogger!' I hear you say. And to be honest, it's not really (apart from the fact you do get to find new amazing brands), but this year I was hosting a chat on the main stage with fellow blogger, Fashionista Barbie, all about blogger/writing for brands. (we also wrote for the Pure London Blog)
But that only took 40 minutes. The rest of the time was spent checking out the all-new menswear section! Yes, for the first year in Pure's history, menswear brands were invited to show their collections. And I found some corkers!
Check them out...
URBAN MAD
The accessory brand caught my eye, big time. In fact, I gasped out loud at this very bag, and obviously had to grab it for a picture! They use the iconic toilet signs on the front as hardwear. GENIUS!
ADAMIST
Launched by America engineer graduate Jacky Rusli, ADAMIST is a 'classic with a twist' shirt brand. Rendered in black and white, with quirky detailing like eyes, wings and geometric shapes, the shirts are proper wardrobe statements!
JOLLIE SOCKS
It was the colours that first drew me in first - all the pastels and stripes - and then when I spoke to the guy at the stand, he told me that for each pair of socks sold, they give a pair to a local homeless charity. Giving something back... it's something TOMS do very well!
CLAUDIO LUGLI
This Italian tailoring brand is ALL about colour colour colour, and print print print. The louder the better. Ordinarily I'd shy away from novelty prints like this, but they made me smile...
CLAVONS WEAR
Statement suiting is this brand's 'thing'. Colour, prints, and interesting detailing, like attached sashes, lapel designs (below) and contrasting trims.
WOODSTYLZ
Since having been told I need to wear glasses recently, I'm constantly on the look out for amazing new frames. Woodstylz are made from, yup, you guessed it.. WOOD! Environmentally responsible wood though, taken from sustainable production. They are cut from ONE piece too, which is quite amazing!
