No, I haven't just done 48 hours in Miami.
We tagged on two days after our cruise last month (What? You didn't know I went on a cruise? You must not follow me on Instagram!). It fast became one of my favourite American cities last time we were there.
The architecture alone draws me back - just wonder down South Beach (at day, not night - it's quite different at night) and look up... all those art deco buildings. AMAZING. You can even do the art deco walking tours.
Also, be sure to visit The Webster if you like shopping. A high end boutique offering everything from Chanel and Rosie Assoulin for the ladies, and Dries van Noten and Gucci for the boys. The building alone is worth a look!
Anyway, we stayed at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach for the one night. It's a HUGE hotel - a bit too big for the amount of sun beds they have - but the lobby sure as hell made up for it...
See, I wasn't lying! It's INCREDIBLE.
More art deco vibes. All 50s furniture, ombre rugs, HUGE chandeliers and monochrome amazingness.
What's more, stay on a Saturday night and you'll see most of Miami's elite clubbers descend on the hotel, for the resident club, LIV.
IT'S A SIGHT!
The art is fun, the rooms are super comfortable, the ocean views are... at the top of this post, and the cakes in the cafe are BEYOND amazing!
As I said, it's a massive hotel, but worth a stay. Oh, just get down to the pool pre-9am to get a bed!
And yep, those cakes are the very black bowties you see as floor tiles!
