Ohh it's the Marrakshi life!
Most random Instagram ads that you’re served are for things like wooden chopping boards or drain unblocking sticks. You buy them thinking they’ll change your life, but in fact you’re just left disappointed. But sometimes, just sometimes one is REALLY BLOODY GOOD and you become obsessed. MARRAKESHI LIFE IS THAT ONE FOR ME.
So, caveat: I haven’t actually bought anything yet from Marrakeshi Life. To be honest, I just can’t afford it at the moment. I did have some things in my basket from the Matches sale, but before I knew it, they’d sold out under my nose. DAMN IT.
The label, launched in 2013 by New York photographer Randall Bachner, is all about selling a sustainable, slow fashion, unisex collection of pieces that can be mixed and matched. Obviously the inspiration is Marrakech and its souks - the long caftans and oversized shirts, and the pyjama-like matching sets.
I’VE NEVER MET A MORE ‘ME’ FASHION BRAND TBH.
Hand-made in a factory in Marrakech, the brand uses local cotton blend fabrics all hand weaved by Bachner’s team of expert garment makers. The thing with Marrakeshi Life is that everything is unisex too, and they make it clear in all branding and on social media, using models across the gender spectrum wearing similar cuts and colours.
OH, I’M JUST OBSESSED.
