Patti LuPone is fashion's newest star!
An unexpected legend turned fashion icon... is there anything better?
The last one I can think of is my queen, Cher, turning it OUT on the red carpet at the Met Gala with Marc Jacobs after appearing in his campaign. And then obviously she’s gone on to do campaigns for GAP and most recently DSquared2. At 73, it’s an achievement to capture a totally new audience.
Now, not saying that Patti LuPone has done ‘a Cher’, but she’s well on her way. It all starts somewhere... in Patti’s case it’s here, for Town & Country magazine, talking about her newly resurrected role of Bobbie in the musical Company.
She has been styled to PERFECTION! Wearing Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, some amazing hats, and some incredibly expensive jewels – that vintage brooch, below, is a cool $110,000!
Patti LuPone wears Stephen Jones hat, Givenchy Cape and $110,000 vintage brooch
Wearing: Philip Treacy London, Giorgio Armani tuxedo, Max Mara blouse and $125,000 vintage earrings
Wearing a sequinned Alex Perry gown
Anyone see Patti in Pose, playing a horribly pushy and mean property owner? She was still fabulous though. And I saw her in Warpaint on Broadway – she was phenomenal. And her newest role is in Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix series Hollywood. I can only imagine how amazing THAT is going to be!
OMG this look… it’s my favourite of the whole shoot!
Wearing: Valentino shirt, Tory Burch trousers and $75,000 earrings
Total Liza Minnelli ‘Cabaret’ vibes!
Wearing: Alexander McQueen blazer and Christian Louboutin pumps, with a $215,000 bracelet!
You’ll find this feature in the April 2020 issue, styled by Ryan Young.
