If anyone has a spare day that they are just not sure how to fill... go for a little drive west on the M4 and go and see Bath and the surrounding little villages. I went recently with a few friends (Romy and Michelle-esque) and it was just so nice to get out of London and see a bit of green for once! The drive up started a little interesting though; we run out of petrol, luckily just by a turning on a dual carriageway, and had to push the car into a farm drive way. The owner came out who had a hook for a left hand and a dodgy eye...it was literally something out of a scary movie. We walked 20 minutes to the nearest petrol station, praying the car would still be there when we got back. We looked like a gay version of the Last of the Summer Wine walking back on the side of the road, was a very funny start and the moral of the story is: FILL UP BEFORE YOU GET GOING.
If you do decide to go, you HAVE to go and see Castle Combe, a little village on the outskirts. Its a 14th century village that is so pretty. Even if its just a quick tea break, or to stay in the 4 star Manor House Hotel (AMAZE!) go so it!!!
